I am interested in your bat houses. I would like to mount it away from my house on a pole. What do you suggest and can your bat house be installed this way?

I have a large shed and is discovered by bats on occasion.  I'm thinking on getting one of your bat houses because I don't want them gone. I just want them off my shed. How do I get them to stop landing in my shed and start landing in the bat house?

To whom it may concern:

We have bat problems, that are viewed just like your photo with the bats hanging from the outside of mesh hanging inward of the Gable Vents.
I was wondering How do we fix this problem.. ?  Could we use the mesh on the outside of the Gable Vents to keep the bats out and will this keep the bats away?
Please help, can’t afford any professionals due to job lost and they are charging 250 just to come out…
Any assistance would be very grateful.
Thanks!

Help! I've read your information on flying squirrels and bats and have a few questions. I live in a log home in the woods in the hills in north western NJ and have been battling these creatures for years. I've spent numerous hours inspecting the outside of the house for entry points and have sealed/caulked all openings/cracks. I finally found the entry point of the bats which was soffit lights, closed this up and I think they are finally gone. Do they hibernate? And if so will they awake in warmer weather? Do they store food? I could have trapped one inside.

Sirs,
What do you recommend to remove the odor from a dead bat that cannot be removed? It has gone down a fist-sized hole behind the fire brick in my fireplace. I can spray or foam down that hole, but cannot reach down it to the carcass.

Jonathan,

I have removed the shutters from the second floor windows. Behind one of them were approximately twenty bats. I have hosed off the area, scraped off any residue, washed with a strong mixture of bleach and water, and I'm now planning to undercoat with Kilz. This paint product is supposed to control mold and mildew.

Why do bats sleep up side down?

Someone once told me it is because their legs are two short for them to stand and ergo cannot hold them in a sleep-position.
