Hi,

I read your page on bed bugs. I agree that we should determine our problem before treating. I have had been attacked by bed bugs in a hotel 3 years ago, and now they appear to be in our home (Based on the bites – and how they move a little and bite again).

Thank God for your company and the online information you offer!
I live in a NYCity apartment and identified a bed bug problem through discovery of active specimens after finding multiple bites.
It is a small apartment and I have lived here 30 years without so much as a hint of them, but, all of a sudden, here they are and I am going a bit nuts. No sleep, afraid to have company, afraid to tell anybody because of the personal stigma.

The article says the bedbug spray being used had alcohol in it. Many "ready to use" sprays contain solvent systems which are largely oil based. As you know, oil can be highly flammable and most of the solvent systems in use for a wide range of chemicals contain some form of petroleum distillates. Anything that contains such distillates can be a hazard but there two key ways you can reduce the potential for a problem.
