carpet beetles

I have been having trouble with something eating my cotton shirts in one closet. Do I need to treat anything other than the closet? No evidence of any problems on area rugs or any other fabrics or in any other closets. In fact the closet is double hung and only the clothes on the bottom hang rod are having problems.
Thank you,
C.R.

Great article on but I'm not sure my bug is a carpet beetle. Do you have any photos of them.  I attached what I found.  I cannot photograph them.
Mine are brownish – grey with a kind of zigzag pattern.  About 3mm x 2mm.
They congregate on the kitchen floor, and sliding glass door sill….every spring for the last 4 years.  I don't think they are in my carpets but I'm not sure.  They also like window sills.
Driving my nuts.

Jonathan,

Sigh.  Carpet beetles.  I think my husband and I attract every hard to kill bug on the planet…a few years ago when we lived in a NYC apartment we had bedbugs and that was a horrible experience and the other day I discovered carpet beetles have been eating my husband's wool clothes (suits, sweaters, etc.)

Dear Sir,

Terminix has been in our home five times and treated five times.  We are now finding adult carpet beetles.  We only found one prior to the introduction of a professional.  We have finally gotten out of our contract with Terminix.  I have wrapped a large, expensive chair in a plastic movers bag, and as I suspected, there are adult beetles in the bag.  The chair and sofa were very expensive-can they be treated effectively, or is it of the best interest of our home to dispose of them?  We have also found an infestation in a new refrigerator that we recently paid off.  Do we need to throw that out too?  I am just distraught, sir, tell me what I can do, please.

Hi Jonathan,

I wish you lived in my area. I unfortunately found carpet beetles in my new apartment. Management sent an exterminator but I don't think he knows what he's doing. Some of the information he have me contradicts what I've found in several places online.
