hi Jonathan,
I watched your youtube video on eliminating springtails from the home..luckily, we have seen no evidence that they are in our home, but they have infested our pool…
I have litterally skimmed thousands of them off, only to see them back in full force in no time… how can I eliminate them?…what product/procedure to you have for me? my kids won't even swim (and my pool has an enclosure)
thanks

Hello U-Spray,
Our house has a problem with springtails. These little pests have been around since we moved into the place seven years ago. I guess the previous owner "forgot" to tell us about this problem. They are only at the back of our house which has many fine trees, mostly hickory nut, lots of shade and a very large wood deck that is close to the ground. You cannot really get under the deck with anything, but the leaves will blow through there and because of that side of the house does not get a lot of sun due to its position and the many trees that shade the area. Therefore, there is a lot of moisture that I cannot do anything to eliminate it other than cut down all the trees and remove the deck…not going to happen.

Hi-
We have been battling springtails for months now. (Actually years.) The latest course of action has been to apply Talstar granules ( I could get it locally same day) in a 10 ft perimeter around the house and watered it in with water. Two days later our Bifen arrived and we applied those granules in a 10 ft perimeter and watered it in with Cyanara. (That was June 24th.) I was waiting 1 month to apply another dose of Bifen and Cyanara. Do you think that is a good interval? Also today I noticed tons on springtails crawling on the dirt on one side of the house, basically right on top of the granules. I was wondering that since the dirt is so compacted (there is no mulch and the dirt is hard and dry) would it be beneficial to work loose the dirt so the Bifen granules would be more apt to go into the soil?

I have a section of roof which is cedar and I think springtails are nesting under the layers. Is it possible for some kind of food to be in the wood?

I was wondering how much each of the chemicals and the equipment was for eliminating the springtails per the instruction video on your web site. Thanks.

Hi,
I got a pretty good outbreak of springtail bugs at my home. I live in California, so make sure I can use the products here. If you could make me a list of what I would need to use to get rid of them it would be handy. I am not going to treat under the concrete yet, but I will do the rest of the program that you recommend. Please send a list of the products I will need with pricing and I will call the order in next Friday. Thanks.

Hi, we used alot of your products last summer. We got rid of many of our problem areas, so the springtails are less. But this is the situation. I am still getting some from the skylites in my bathroom. We have a cedar roof. When I knock on the gutters, some of the springtails are in the gutters. Are they in our cedar roof area near our skylites and what would I do to try to get rid of them there?

Hi and Thanks for the article. I live in a condo. The building is concrete block . I am in a corner apartment on the ground floor. The bushes and foliage is around the building outside my windows of course. I have been having trouble with springtails for near two years . I see them on the window sills and they come in when I open a window. It is driving me mad. I have not been able to get the Condo Association or Management to do anything about it let alone have they or even the complexes lawn service ever heard of a springtail. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been fighting a bad springtail infestation and would like to know if there is any chance I can eliminate them once and for all?
Springtails are a major pest because they typically breed outside in the soil and migrate at one time in mass numbers. When their nest site is close to the house, their migration will cause many of them to get inside the house. If left untreated, homes can become infested and if conditions are right, they could start to breed there as well.

My home is 7 years old. We have had springtails for about 3 years. I used Bifen last year and though it stopped them at the house, they are still thriving in the yard. Right now it seems they are located around our patio slab and front door porch slab—and they then travel everywhere. I have found them in our mulch, crawling on the outside brick, our wood fence, by the windows, coming in through the back door (by the patio) and the front door (by the porch), and coming into the bathroom tub. Last year I removed the grass around the patio slab (about 6 inches worth) and put in the Bifen granules—I did the same thing around our front porch, sidewalk and front steps and round the entire slab of the house. I also got rid of most of the wood mulch and replaced in with rubber mulch.
