Here is another chipmunks problem that you can add to your web page: ground wasps love to colonize abandoned chipmunk holes. Or maybe they drive the chipmunks out? Anyway, we have found them occupying chipmunk holes.
The ones we have here (in Maine) are vicious stingers and aggressive if you walk on or disturb the opening to the nest. A very great hazard for people allergic to bee stings. B.A. Greene, Maine
Thanks for the suggestion. It’s not surprising to see something take advantage of these holes. I know this commonly happens with other species but in general, it’s another animal that moves in and not an insect! The granules and liquid spray we have featured in the article does a great job of knocking them out.
