earth auger

Dear Sirs,
I am looking at your earth auger (24" X 2.75)  for the purposes of chopping pine bar chips, which come in 1" or larger chunks, into smaller chips (1/4") for planting.  In the same way that a blender or hand mixer might work.  The chunks are not hard and can be broken by hand.  Do you think this would be successful for that purpose?  I cannot spend $250. + for a grinder.  Do you have any other ideas or suggestions?

Our EARTH AUGER should do the job fine. If you are grinding the wood chips up in a confined area, it should break them apart at a good rate as long as you use a strong electric power drill on the auger.
