What would you use inside the house during the winter to combat stinkbugs? They are still pretty active. Is it worth while to spray the outside foundation now as well or would it just be a waste during the cold now?
Any time you have stink bugs inside the home, you should treat with the D-FORCE or ECO AEROSOL where you see them. This will both kill what’s active and provide some residual action so if others try to enter, they’ll die too. Treatments done right should last 2-4 weeks. Retreat as needed. Generally this is needed throughout the winter months but in some cases, summer and fall treating may be warranted. And setting out some STINK BUG LIGHT TRAPS can help too. They’ll capture any avoiding the treatment and since they’re working 24 hours a day, you’ll always have something in place to handle any unexpected activity which tends to occur at the worse time during the winter months (like when someone is visiting during the holidays).
But there is no need to spray the outside if it’s the middle of the winter. It would be best to treat there when they exit, and this is usually in the spring, if you wish to knock down the population so they don’t return next fall. As our STINK BUG ARTICLE explains, these bugs tend to return over and over to homes they use for hibernation and once your house is marked, it will surely continue to attract them.
Lastly, if you have reason to believe they are nesting in wall voids or ceiling spaces, be sure to dust these locations as our article explains. This is sometimes needed for long term permanent control. If you have further questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to call us toll free at 1-800-877-7290.
