I have quite a bit of mole cricket activity in my vegetable garden. I fear that tilling in a load of mulch may have brought them on. Are the products you recommend safe for vegetables or will the chemicals make them dangerous for consumption? Your information seems specific to lawns. I live in Jacksonville, FL and the mole crickets are both in the garden and also on the front lawn. HELP!
Mole cricket control will best be achieved by treating as described in our MOLE CRICKET CONTROL ARTICLE. The products listed are mostly for lawns and not gardens but you can treat close to it. However, in the garden, it’s best to apply some organic products to insure there isn’t contamination of the produce.
That being said, there aren’t many organic products that target mole crickets. The good news is that we do have some that are strong enough to handle this pest and it’s safe enough to use in and around the garden. If you go to our NON TOXIC PEST CONTROL site, you’ll a wide selection of sprays, dusts and other formulations. For Mole Crickets, the GRUB KILLER RTS would be ideal. It will work on this strong pest yet be safe enough to use around the vegetable garden.
If the area is small, you could get the MULTI PURPOSE INSECT KILLER. This concentrate doesn’t come with it’s own sprayer so you will need to get a good PUMP SPRAYER to make the application.

what are your recommending for garden mole cricket control?
Tech Support says
@guest: Go with either the Grub Killer (it’s also labeled for Mole Crickets) or the Multipurpose Insect Killer. Links to these are listed above and they’re both designed for organic vegetable gardening.
