I have been told that cougar urine will repel feral cats so they stay out of the yard. I was wondering if the cougar urine will repel or frighten my dogs.
COUGAR URINE used around the home can act as a repellent to many animals. But in general it will only affect animals that aren’t native to the area. In other words, your pets (dogs and cats) won’t be affected or much even care since this is their turf; this is where they live. But other animals like squirrels, bob cats, coyote, etc. are quick to notice such “markings” and many times will stay away since they instinctively know such smells are indicative of a marked territory which is not their own.
Other urine we’ve seen that can work on feral cats include RED FOX URINE and COYOTE URINE since both fox and coyote will readily feed upon a cat as explained in our CAT CONTROL ARTICLE.

What is best for keeping raccoons out of the yard….they dig and most destructive by getting into the pool – one bite into a hose and it’s gone….I’m tired of replacing pool hoses.
Thank you

@Sandy Rhrbacher: I suggest you look over our raccoon product options. And you should probably read the article first. This way you’ll have a good idea of what’s attracting them to the property in the first place. My guess is there is some food in the turf and once in the yard, they’ll naturally try to get to any water they can find.
The good news is we offer several options to “fix” this problem and they can be seen here:

We have wild horses that roam our neighborhood and are not afraid of people because people hand feed them. Will cougar urine work to keep them off my property?
Tech Support says
PJ,
It should. Other than man, the only natural enemy for horses are cougars (aka: mountain lions). In fact mountain lions attack horses all the time and are the bane of ranchers, farmers and equestrians where the two conflict.

Any suggestions are welcomed to help me do this…thank you!

Angela,
Definitely consider our “in the ground” SOLAR POWERED SOUND REPELLERS and our ABOVE GROUND SOUND REPELLERS. Both work very well on feral cats. In fact they work great on all cats like bobcat, cougar, mountain lion, lynx and other animals.
.
Cats and other predators don’t like “hearing” interference so these units disrupt them enough to where they are not happy where they hear the units going off. For this reason they will avoid where units are installed.
.
The Solar Powered ones should be spaced out one every 30-40 feet. They run by themselves so essentially “set it and forget it” so no need to replenish anything.

.
The Above Ground Repellers can be fitted to run continuously with their included power supply or off batteries. For the feral cats, we find running them continuously works best, 24/7, and nothing but Ultra Sound is required to get them uncomfortable and to more on to another location.
