I want to first remove some mold and fungi from the house beam in a crawl space. I understand that ‘Mold Blaster’ should be used first; however, I don’t know if ‘Mold Blocker’ should be used or ‘Bora-Care’ as a preventative.
Great question and I can understand the confusion based on how many products we have included with our MOLD CONTROL ARTICLE. Once you’ve treated with MOLD BLASTER to kill the existing mold, decide if you wish to control mold alone or if you’d like to protect the wood from mold and pretty much anything else that might eat it like termites, carpenter ants and other pests. Mold Blaster will only stop future mold activity and will last about 1 year. Alternatively, if you treat with BORACARE, you’ll get at least 3-5 years of protection and it will control a long list of wood boring pests the Mold Blaster won’t do anything to help.
