We just sodded our backyard–7000 sq feet–and we have an infestation. Is it ok to treat for grubs now (it has been three weeks since the sod went down–bermuda) or should we wait? We are already seeing yellow spots. Thanks for your help.

Have a great day!
First and foremost, I strongly urge you to test the soil PH. As explained on our SOIL PH CONTROL site, it’s pretty much impossible to grow grass well unless this key soil balance is maintained. Our SOIL PH PROBE is both easy to use and fast. In over 25% of the cases we handle with people who have insect or fungus problem in the their turf we find their PH is out of whack. No doubt this key component of the “lawn equation” is paramount to both getting and keeping healthy grass so get used to watching this measurement to make sure it doesn’t stray.
Second, we always suggest letting new grass seed set out at least 10 days before any grub treatments are done. For newly laid sod, 7 days is plenty of time. Since your sod has been out 3 weeks or more, there is no problem applying some of the MERIT GRUB KILLER featured in our GRUB CONTROL ARTICLE. Be sure to water in the granules with the CYONARA RTS for fast and better results.
