Found some info about controlling lizards on a web site with link to your company. I have a problem with a lizard(s) that are about 8″ to 10″ long doing some damage in the yard in front of our home. Read about your glue traps but not sure if they would handle this size lizard. Also went to your site and found some live traps such as item no. 822150. Would this trap work in conjunction with the glue trap or using the bait inside the live trap. Would prefer removing the pest to a distant location and not having to kill it. I do spray for bugs around the home so not sure why I am attracting lizards. Started about 2 years ago. Any recommendations about any of your other products that might work would be appreciated.
To get rid of lizards in and around the home, it’s best to first figure out why they’ve come around. In most all situations, local insect populations must be high enough to attract them. Additionally, they like shade and lots of plants and ground cover. These are basic requirements for most populations and is usually a good place to concentrate your effort when attempting to do lizard control.
You say you are spraying but I have to wonder if what you are spraying is having a big enough impact. As listed in our LIZARD CONTROL ARTICLE, there are some sprays which work better compared to others. We’ve found the CYPERMETHRIN works well controlling insects. It has the added ability to “repel” lizards so if you find they keep coming around, consider using it over what you’ve been using to achieve better results.
Regarding our LIZARD TRAPS, we do have a LARGE GLUE TRAP which sounds like it would be better suited for the activity you are reporting. I don’t think any of the live traps we have listed will actually hold the lizards so I would have to say getting one wouldn’t prove to be helpful. But I am sure several of our large glue traps will help.
