I’d like to minimize or maybe even eliminate no see ums around my house. I live close to a swampy area and it may not even be possible but I figured I’d ask. Which product would you recommend for a moist, humid environment that’s close to a swamp? I’m just getting tired of being attacked every time we try to do something outside….
Noseeums can be tough to eliminate but they can be controlled. There are so many places they could be breeding close by which means that once you kill the ones around the property, others in the region will be able to migrate to the empty vacated areas so be prepared to treat every 10-14 days to keep the area noseeum free. For now, review our online article on NO SEE UM CONTROL which does a great job of listing everything you can do including spraying, fogging and even repelling them.

The big key for you will be to understand you should never expect to get long term control. So as long as you follow our recommendation of fogging every 7-10 days, you should be able to keep them minimized. I won’t go as far to say they’ll be eliminated but you should be able to obtain satisfactory results. Just be sure to get a fogger large enough for your property (or the amount of land you want to fog) and you’ll be able to keep them under control for sure. If you need help making a choice, send us an email on the property size involved and we’ll try to further advise.

How do you get rid of no-see-ums inside the home that are biting me? We have “bombed” the house inside and works for a while…but they make life miserable. We have sprayed both inside and out side. Thanks for any information. No one else in the area is bothered.

Glory,
To see all your treatment options, read our Noseeum control article posted here:

What you’ll learn in our article is that the fogging machines are the best way to control noseeums outside. Depending on the size of the property, you’ll need one of the machines we list along with one of the concentrates. These treatments are far superior to spraying traditional “liquids”; the fog just does a better job of covering all plant surfaces out where noseeums can hide. This is important and the reason why fogging works well.
For inside the home, the Aerosol Machines with Metered Insecticide is an easy and highly effective way to treat. These machines can be set up to operate automatically so you just need to refill them every 30-45 days with a new can of Metered Insecticide. Most homes will need 3-4 machines set up in certain rooms where activity is noticed and again, you’ll see instant results once the units are in place and operating.
