I’m thinking of following your advice against the codling moth. My concern will be in spraying Permethrin while the fruit are very small. Will this not cause lot of future fruits to drop?
Treating fruit when small or in any stage will not cause them to “drop” prematurely. When mixed and applied properly as described in our codling moth article, the plant and fruit will be fine. In fact, one could argue they will be able to develop longer better on the tree due to all the stress and damage the many pests normally contribute which won’t be as active due to the treating.
