We are looking at using this as a repellent for rabbits, but need to know if it would be poisonous to small dogs.
All the rabbit repellents we have listed in our RABBIT CONTROL ARTICLE are safe to use around pets like dogs and cats. In most cases pets will simply ignore the applications but even if they show an interest and sniff around your application, it won’t be dangerous or pose a threat to them. Remember too that the amount applied will be dispersed over a large area so in anyone location it will barely be detectable. Just keep the dogs away while doing the treatment and allow an hour or two for it to settle before they go back outside and there will be no risk. In summary, you can use either our granular or liquid repellents safely in the yard where pets are active.

I am interested in the “bat scat” product and I have a question. I have two dachshunds that are inside dogs, but of course they are outside a lot too. They weigh about 15 lbs. each. Would the product be harmful to them in any way? Thanks-

@guest: As explained in the post above, when applied properly this product won’t pose a hazard to pets or people. Once dispersed over the area, there won’t be enough material in any one location to present a problem. Dogs might notice it but will go about their normal business as if it wasn’t present at all. Rabbits, however, will find the odor disturbing. And since the treatment will mask and even change the scent left behind by other rabbits, the net result will be new rabbis foraging into the yard will tend to move away as quickly as they enter.
