stink bugs in hair and bed

April 22, 2010 By Tech Support Leave a Comment

These stink bugs are driving me nuts. They are in my house. We kill about 10 a day. They have fallen in my hair, clothes and bed. I flush them down the toilet. Please tell me what product to buy. We have has them for about 1 year. In the winter they lay dormite on my clothing sometimes 5 or 6 will be on a sweater. I can not stand this anymore. Please get back to me. I HAVE HAD IT…

At this time of year the Stink Bugs will be getting quite active as they leave structures to forage out for the spring and summer months. It’s at this time of year when they live outside and will forage out after a long winter of hibernating somewhere in your home. It’s also great time to knock out your residing population and get them during this time of transition. As our STINK BUG CONTROL ARTICLE details, a great time to get them is in the fall and spring as they move in and on your home while in transition. And since the ones leaving will be coming back next fall why not kill them now so they can’t return? In fact this is a great strategy and one that’s easy to employ.

The first thing you should do is a heavy outside spraying of the home with the CYPERMETHRIN. Most homes will require 2-3 gallons to be sprayed on 3-4 sides of the house. If done properly this will effectively form a barrier so as they emerge from the siding, roof line and gutters of your home they’ll cross the chemical barrier and pick up a lethal dose of chemical. This should be done every two weeks until you don’t see them anymore.

For inside the home, get the D-FORCE or orderless PT-PHANTOM and treat where you see activity. I like the Phantom because it goes on dry and when used properly you won’t even know it’s been applied. It’s got much less odor compared to the D-Force and is active longer too.

Lastly, be sure to treat next September right before fall to intercept any that may be returning. As our article explains, this problem will get worse and worse unless you start treating and it sounds like you’re already experincing this firsthand.
